With the release of Sora 2 AI on Oct 1, 2025, people have been using it to make AI-generated videos. These videos blur the lines between reality because all content created within the app is AI-generated. People with all sorts of nefarious or helpful things can make AI-generated videos about almost anything.
Some restrictions that Sora has are sexual content, hateful content, and violence. Despite OpenAI saying this, it is extremely easy to get around this. It is not hard for someone to find a Sora video. As a sophomore, Addie Sebolt has said that she has seen animals turn into humans and persuade them to eat their kids. Senior Brooke Byxbee said that she has seen grandmas at the chiropractor’s being thrown through windows.
Recently, people have used it to defame people’s characters. A sophomore said that if they are already an influencer, then they can’t be mad, because they already signed up for the internet. And if they’re dead, then who cares as long as the video’s funny.
Most videos that people see are just really dumb. Sophomore Walt Wilkins said that he has seen “videos of dogs pooping and then flying away.” Sophomore Liam Reamer said, “I’ve seen videos of Jinxy (The Clash Royal Streamer) and his goblin gang.” Or videos on the Chicken Stars kid.
But recently, MLK Jr.’s daughter has pleaded for People to stop making AI-generated videos of her father. This makes perfect sense because people have been using his image, along with that of other famous figures, in inappropriate ways.
Sophomore Hampton Sheilds said that he has seen a video of Albert Einstein fighting Martin Luther King Jr. in a wrestling match. It gets to a point where there is a line between sorta funny and just disrespectful.
The first time I saw Sora was a video of Jake Paul coming out as gay. This seems harmless until you realise that some people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if there were no watermark. Especially for older people, this could be hard to differentiate between real and AI.
Recently, I’ve seen an AI-generated video without a watermark. It took me multiple watches to figure out it was AI. Even Snapchat has A future that can make any 2 people kiss (without a Watermark). This makes it really easy to spread a rumor. Especially for screenagers.
Without a doubt, Sora must be stopped.
