Some people have argued that Raising Cane’s is better than Zaxby’s and vice versa. The Raising Cane’s “3 Finger Combo” and the Zaxby’s “Big Zax Snak Meal” are the same thing. Three things make me believe that Raising Cane’s is better than Zaxby’s: chicken, sauce, and bread.

People have said that “the chicken fingers at Cane’s aren’t seasoned enough, or they’re dry.” I strongly disagree. The Raising Cane’s chicken fingers are buttery, soft, and have an enjoyable taste. They are crispy on the outside, and when you go to bite into them, you immediately get blasted with countless flavors. Junior Jamison Nessmith said, “The chicken is a lot fresher.” The Zaxby’s chicken fingers are like the Raising Cane’s chicken fingers, but not as good. Most of the time, the chicken is cut in half. They’re so tiny that one chicken finger could fit in your mouth. I’ve personally had it come out super soggy and cold. Sophomore Aliyah Harris said, “I threw up at Zaxby’s because the chicken was undercooked.” 

Although I believe Zaxby’s fries are better than Raising Cane’s due to their seasoning and fluffiness, Raising Cane’s is better overall.

The first time I tasted Cane’s Sauce, I immediately knew that this was better than any chicken-based fast food place with its own original sauce. On TikTok, there have been multiple videos called “mukbang” where people will buy a full-size cup of Canes Sauce and drink it. Although that might sound very weird, this proves how amazing their sauce really is. It is a creamy texture with a peppery tang.

Now, if you have not had the Raising Cane’s Texas Toast, you are definitely missing out. The soft and fluffy texture of the Texas bread makes you never want to eat regular bread ever again. I never eat the toast at Zaxby’s because it either tastes gross or it’s rock solid, but with Cane’s, I will never pass it up. Sophomore Annalise Bitner stated, “The toast is perfectly toasted every time.”

I did a poll on Schoology on what others prefer in this debate, and 153 people agreed that Raising Cane’s is better, and 115 people agreed that Zaxby’s is better. Overall, I think, and many others as well, agree that Raising Cane’s is better than Zaxby’s. I would rather spend $9.59 on an experience I would never forget than $8.59 on an experience where it will most likely be bad.
