Flik. I eat Flik. I love Flik. I hate Flik.
As the school year starts anew we are often reminded of just how lucky we are to have such an outstanding provider of food. Most of the time. Here is a definitive ranking of every Flik item of food that I have eaten since the start of the school year.
Starting at the best
- Mac and Cheese with pork bowl- Senior Payne Hornish says that the “maccaroni bowl is the best lunch that flik could possibly have” and I would tend to agree with him. This bowl is everything great about flik. Creativity matched with comfort that appeals to all tastes.
- BBQ chicken thighs- Senior William Mims notes that this meal was “quite excellent”, and again, I would agree.
- Beef Tacos- Great classic. I am a sucker for mexican food so this is right up my alley.
- Banana Pudding- GOAT of Flik desserts.
- BEC Breakfast Burrito- Banger. Warms you up in the morning.
- BEC Bagel- Just like number 3 except on a bagel. One of the best bagels I have ever eaten.
- Cheeseburger with Fries- Excellent American staple.
- Chicken Tenders with Fries- Another classic cafeteria food.
- Hot dog- Tasty, and we were given two. The student body was also offered the choice of coleslaw and beans.
- BBQ Pork sandwich- This was our first day of school, and the staff got off to an excellent start.
- French Toast Sticks- Crispy, crunchy, and nice and tender on the inside
- Chocolate muffin- Tasty treat.
- Spaghetti and meatballs- I missed this day, but I am told it was solid, and I can always get down with some pasta. *I wish I was here for the BBQ Pork Chop. And they made Mac and Cheese.* *I also missed chicken and waffles. Darn.*
- Country Fried Steak- Last year, this was my favorite Flik meal. This year though, the potato lacked flavor, and the steak was a little tough.
- Popcorn Chicken- Ok, a little soggy.
- Chicken Biscuit- Always a little rubbery
- Beef Nacho Bowl- Solid, could have used a little more chips.
- Pancake Day- Very Good; Not very good for you. A little too much sugar.
- Tator Tots- Some days very good, others soggy and bad.
- Turkey Taco- I’m a little biased because I am against Turkey in tacos; however, this meal was not great.
- Bow Tie Pasta- Not enough flavor.
- Cheese Tortillini- Too much flavor. Especially of the cheesy sort.
- Chicken Jerk- Without a doubt, the worst meal at Flik so far this year. Almost unanimously disliked, this chicken seemed to not feel right.
This is my ranking. Love it or hate it, I am a Flik lover and superfan, so I care and feel responsible to make this ranking. Also, we need tacos in a bag at some point. An anonymous senior had a cinnamon roll this morning, and she said that the inside was raw. Might want to fix that Flik.
