The boys and girls basketball teams have both advanced to the second round of the playoffs. The girls defeated Chesterfield 52-39 on Tuesday, and the boys beat Buford 69-39 on Wednesday. The girls used a strong second half to finish off Chesterfield. The boys dominated Buford throughout the game en route to a 30 point victory. Both teams will have home court advantage throughout the playoffs after each winning their region. The girls went undefeated in region play to earn the number one seed, but the boys had a slightly more nerve-racking end of the season. After securing a win over Landrum via forfeit, the boys had to play a tie-breaker game versus Greenville Tech Charter to determine the region championship. The boys avenged a five point loss earlier in the season by defeating GTC 59-48. The Lady Cavs play again tonight at home versus Andrew Jackson at 6:00.
