On Sunday, January 19th, 2014 the first implosion since 1998 took place. The Scott Towers near downtown, was filled with explosives and once they were lit, the building came tumbling down. As I was there watching, I got to experience all of the sights and sounds. It only took a couple of seconds for the entire building to come down, and as it came down there was a huge puff of smoke. The puff covered the entire street, and it lightly covered the surrounding cars. I have never seen anything like it, and I doubt that there will be an event like this anytime in the near future. It was pretty interesting to see how many people came out to see it, and I know that this event will stay vivid in their minds for a long time.
