Have you met the new Spanish teacher, Mrs. Padilla? CCES journalism staff had a conversation with her about her experience so far this year in the Upper School. Mrs. Padilla is new to the Upper School but not to CCES. She recently worked as a substitute teacher in the Middle School and eventually a full time Spanish teacher in the Middle school for a semester. She teaches Spanish for beginner and advanced Spanish speakers. When asked why she enjoys teaching, she said she likes helping students learn and understand Spanish.
Before becoming a Spanish teacher, she had an acting career in her home country of Spain. She joined her high school drama club and continued acting throughout her college years. After some years in college, she began background acting in some movies. After gaining acting experience she auditioned for an acting role in a TV show. The show ran for 3 years until it was canceled, but overall she enjoyed the experience. Soon after, she found her love for teaching.
