The Christ Church Upper School Student Council started off the week with a successful 80s skate night at The Skate Place in Piedmont, SC on Monday night. Surrounded by neon wall paint and loud pop music, students and teachers joined together on the rink for a night of fun to raise money for the spirit week charity, St. Anthony’s Catholic School.

After dinner at Marco’s Pizza on Augusta, students travelled all the way to Piedmont for skate night. Dressed in their best 80s leggings and neon hair scrunchies, students paid $5 to enter before hitting the rink. “Skating was so much fun and my favorite event that we had,” said Senior Class President Nell Gray Rasmussen after the event. However, she admits that skating was a little tricky. “I have two huge bruises on my knees now because I’m really bad at it!”

“This year we had the best skate night turn-out that we have ever had! Personally, it was one of my favorite events,” said Senior Class Vice President Courtney Foster. Senior Class Representative Charlie Pruitt agreed saying “I thought the night was awesome!”
