Men’s Lacrosse Defeats Chapin Eagles
The men’s lacrosse team defeated the Chapin High School Eagles 9-4. After losing three games in a row to Oceanside High, Bishop England, and Hilton Head High, the Cavaliers were able to regroup and play well against Chapin. Prior to the game, head coach Joe Cummings challenged the Christ Church to come leave the last three games behind them and move on. The Cavaliers did just that. As the team warmed up, they were created by several alumni who came to support the Cavs, including Christian Merkt, Chase Poplin, Zachary Idres, and Austin Hayden.
From the first whistle, Christ Church dominated the game. Freshman Mason Goldsmith helped the Cavs by winning almost all of the faceoffs. Senior Jack Sanders also lead to Christ Church offence to its best performance all season. Scoring a total of 6 times, Jack Sanders was a force to be reckoned with.
If the Cavs can continue to play like they did on Tuesday, they will be a tough team for any team to beat, including undefeated Oceanside High. This Friday, Christ Church has the opportunity to extend their win streak to two games by beating the A.C. Flora Falcons. To win, the Cavs will have to continue to play to the best of their ability.
Come out to Linda Reeves Field at 7:30 this Friday to support the Cavaliers.
