Senior Jack Sanders dodges against a Greenville High defender

Men’s lacrosse has its first home scrimmage of the year this Friday at 7:30 against J.L. Mann. The scrimmage will be a great opportunity for the team to see how they stack up against other teams in Greenville. Hopefully, there will be a strong showing of fans to support the Cavs as they take on the Patriots.

The lacrosse team, coached by ex-collegiate and professional player Joe Cummings, has been training since last fall in preparation for the coming season. With only 2 seniors on the roster after graduating 8 starters last season, youth is the best adjective for describing this year’s team. Despite lacking experience, Coach Cummings says that the motto for this season is not to rebuild, but to “reload”. This is definitely within the reach of the Lacrosse team. With talented players like senior attackman Jack Sanders and a large Junior and Sophomore class, expect the Cavaliers to not only be competitive but to win some big games.

Be sure to come out to games this year to support the Cavaliers.
