CCES vs. Greenville High
Last Friday, the Cavalier football team faced off against 4A powerhouse Greenville High. The Cavs entered the game 1-2 after coming off of their first win of the season against West Oak High school. Greenville High went into last week’s game at 2-0 and were favored to beat Christ Church substantially.
The atmosphere at the game was incredible, with almost 1,000 students and parents in attendance. The Cavaliers played well during the first half, keeping the score close. During the second half, however, things went south. Even though the Cavs ended up losing the game by a final score of 55-14, coach Frost expressed his appreciation for every player playing harder than they did in weeks past and not giving up. “At the end of the first half we were down 21-7. We were hanging in there in the first half but the second half was all Greenville High,” said sophomore JV football player Mcrady Mann. Coach Frost and the Cavs look to bounce back this Friday at home against Riverside and have positive momentum going into the next few weeks and region play.
