Clemson, South Carolina is home to a new trophy. After defeating the reigning champions 35-31 last night, Clemson is on top of the college football world. A year after a heartbreaking five point loss to the Crimson Tide, the 6.5 point underdogs got their revenge. Entering the game, Alabama and Clemson were ranked first and second, respectively. The Tide were undefeated while Clemson had one loss to Pittsburgh.

Deshaun Watson “proved he was the best player in the country” through his performance, according to his coach Dabo Swinney. With 420 passing yards, 4 total touchdowns, and zero interceptions, he lead his team to a dramatic victory. Down 24-14, Clemson outscored Alabama 21-7 in the fourth quarter, propelling them to the lead on a last second touchdown to sophomore Hunter Renfrow. Watson’s last throw in orange was a touchdown, capping his career in dramatic fashion with a National Title Trophy.
