All of the Christ Church community was waiting intently for the decision of when and where the championship game would be played. Originally, the game was scheduled to be played on Friday, November 29 against Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School but was recently moved as a result of player-ineligibility.

The Christ Church community recently found out more about the state championship game when all staff received an e-mail saying, “The Commissioner of the South Carolina High School League has informed us that we will play Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School this Friday, December 5th at 7 p.m. at Benedict College for the Class A Division 1 State Championship.” Now, students, parents, and faculty are carving time into their schedules to go see Christ Church play in their fourth straight state championship. Many students, such as Junior McKoy Crawford, are excited to go to the game to see a good team such as Christ Church play an exciting game while also having a good time with their friends. Crawford said she will be driving to Columbia with 6 other CCES students to see the game.

Many football players are excited about the game as well. Freshman offensive lineman Hal Ridgeway said, “It’s my first state championship and I’m looking forward to playing the best team we’ve played all year.” Ridgeway also said, “Pass protection is going to be the key to this game.”

Hopefully, many CCES fans will still find a way to come see their school play in the state championship in Columbia.
