The Varsity Cheerleaders have been exceeding expectations this season. During the summer they went to Appalachian State for their first competition. The girls were named “Camp Champs” for the second year in a row and took home the honorary plush banana, which is given to the one team that has the most spirit.

The team has been leading cheers at every game for the Cavaliers this year as well as performing a few dances during Homecoming. The Cavaliers have a new coach this year with CCES Alum Alexis Hinton this year, as well as Dipali Patel returning to be the stunt coach. The team this year is made up of 21 Upper School students, including five seniors and four freshmen. They are lead by their four captains Caroline Vaughan, Ellen Nachman, Gia Wixler, and Bronwyn Sastry. Senior Ellen Nachman, Juniors Sterling Duke, and Madeline Catanzaro, were all named as All-Americans this year. Senior Ellen Nachman said “This is the best cheerleading team that CCES has ever had.”
