The girls have had a successful year this year under the leadership of seniors Meghan Carrigan, Meghan Althoff, and Laura Davids. Although they have suffered losses to a couple powerhouse 4A schools including Mauldin and JL Mann, as well as a loss to Academic Magnet. They are undefeated in the region and have the first seed in the region going into the playoffs. The Lady Cavs had a very good start to the season, but their second half was even better with the return of juniors Sarah Renfro and Laima Alikhail, who were injured early in the season. Their confidence is running high going into the playoffs, where they hope to make a run at the State Championship where they will most likely meet their rivals from Lower State Academic Magnet once again, who they suffered a loss to earlier in the season. This continued to be an exciting season for the team, but the season ended with a narrow loss during a sudden death penatly kick against Academic Magnet during the State Championship.
