Girls’ Lacrosse: 2013 Season

Will Sanders, Staff writer

The Girls’ Lacrosse team finished with an undefeated regular season as compared to last year’s 5-5 record.  They blew away Woodmont in the first round of the playoffs with a score of 13-6.  They lost to Fort Mill, the defending State Champions, in the second round with a score of 13-5. As junior Anna Ferrell said in an interview, “We are undefeated so far and playing really well! We still have a lot of new players so we are all learning a lot.”  The team had a rough time with multiple injuries including a concussion that cut the season short for All-State senior Allie Harrill. Anna Pieper was named to the All-State second team as well as the Upper State first team. Brittain Hughes, Ellery Ivester, Madeliene Ryan, Anna Ferrell, and Mary Kate Young were named to the All-Uperstate second team.
