Your Guide to The Most Anticipated Games of 2019-2020
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a reboot of one of the best games of its generation and is solidifying Activision’s position as a titan in the industry. It will finally take us back to the classic cod formula that made the series so popular in the first place. A few things to look forward to are the new 2v2 and 32v32 game modes. The game releases on October 25 and the beta started on September 12th.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a single player-only Star Wars game that is being developed by Respawn Entertainment, an accomplished studio that brought us the Titan fall series and Apex Legends. It features sleek lightsaber combat and a plethora of enemies, ranging from stormtroopers to inquisitors. However, be warned: Respawn is not known for making single player games. Every game they have released has been multiplayer focused and only one has had a campaign, which was mediocre at best. The game will be released on November 15th.
Luigi’s Mansion 3
Luigi’s Mansion 3 will be the third game in the series, which has been following Mario’s less-appreciated brother on his ghost-hunting escapades. Some characters from the Mario game will be featured, including Mario himself and Princess Peach. The game also has new features like the suction shot and the ability to use Gooigi to phase through certain parts of the map to access other areas. The game releases October 31st on the Nintendo Switch.
Cyberpunk 2077 (2020)
Cyberpunk 2077 is a sci-fi rpg set in the near future. The game has generated copious amounts of hype around it, and for good reason. The game is being developed by CD Projekt Red, a legendary development studio responsible for the creation of the Witcher series. The studio is known for its magnificent stories, immersive settings, and great attention to detail. The game is shown through the perspective of a mercenary called V and will include various unique RPG mechanics to best suit your play style with many factions to ally or make enemies with. The game releases on April 16th and will be available on PC, Xbox One, Ps4, and Google Stadia.
Halo Infinite (2020)
Halo Infinite is the newest (and one of the most anticipated) entries in the Halo franchise and is set to release during the 2020 holiday season. While the trailers have looked promising with stellar graphics from 343s new slipspace engine, Halo Infinite is going through a bit of a rough phase in its development, as the game’s creative director, Tim Longo, recently left. What we are left with is a game that shows promise, but whether or not the final product will be up to our standards is yet to be seen.
